What IAAP Means to Me
by Doris Davis CPS/CAPWhen I joined IAAP in September 2003, I was looking for a way to grow professionally and connect with others who shared my goals. I found that in the Municipal Employees Chapter. Being a closed chapter limited to employees of municipalities, they understand our unique challenges of working for a public entity.
Through the conferences and workshops sponsored on the International, Division, and Chapter levels, I have gained valuable knowledge and training opportunities. When I decided to further my education, I researched various options. I was excited to discover IAAP had partnered with
Although Municipal Employees is a small chapter, we have bonded to make an outstanding cohesive team. We all pitch in to help each other and participate in community projects. Our biggest test will be hosting of the 2008 Georgia Division Annual Meeting. I do feel we are up to this challenge.
Being a member of a professional organization such as IAAP has helped me in my career as an Executive Assistant. I would highly recommend this to anyone looking to connect with other professionals.
